What is Skilled Nursing Care?
Skilled nursing care is normally
the highest level of care for older adults outside of a hospital. It
typically involves trained professionals performing either short term
or long term nursing services according to needs. St. Catherine's 69
bed skilled nursing care center offers spiritually centered, holistic
care to the frail and elderly including 24 hour nursing care, pain management,
rehabilitation, restorative care and palliative care. (Learn

What is a Rehabilitation Center?
A Rehabilitation center is
a home in which persons live while receiving therapy and counseling
such as occupational, physical and speech therapy. St Catherine's are
also available. Therapeutic support is an integral part of the care
that is offered at St. Catherine's. Our Aquatic program is provided
in our large therapeutic pool.
What is a Medicaid or Medicare Nursing Home?
Medicaid and Medicare
Nursing homes provide custodial and skilled nursing care 24/7. Medicaid
and Medicare Certified nursing homes are eligible for benefits and are
actively monitors and assessed through the prospective programs. St.
Catherine's participates in both Medicare and Medicaid and has been
certified since 1994.
What is Short Term Rehabilitation?
Short term rehabilitation (as
opposed to Long Term Care) promotes independence and rapid return to
home after a period of rehabilitation from a broad range of surgical
procedures, stroke, amputation, injuries and illness. At St. Catherine's

What is Long Term Care?
Long term care (as opposed to
Short Term
Rehabilitation) is required for anyone facing debilitating or chronic
illnesses. Illnesses such as this require different levels of constant
assistance, making it impossible for many to stay home alone. A diagnosis
like these will change your life, but St. Catherine's does our best
to make it a positive change. Our caretakers develop meaningful relationship
with our patients to learn how to best meet there daily need and give
them a positive environment to thrive and enjoy life.
What is Senior Care?
Senior care is the fulfillment of the special
needs and requirements that are unique to senior citizens. Senior care
includes services such as assisted living, adult day care, long term
care, nursing homes, hospice care, and In-Home care. St. Catherine's
prides themselves in being "a caring place that celebrates the human
spirit" and we understand that every situation is special. Or skilled
nursing staff will work with you to develop the senior care plan that
is perfect for you and your loved ones.
What is Respite Care?
Respite care is temporary institutional care
of a dependent elderly, ill, or handicapped person in order to provide
relief for their usual caregivers. At St. Catherine's we understand
the challenges of daily care, so we offer state-of-the-art respite care
to provide a stress free option to families in this situation. St. Catherine's
respite care provides hardworking caretakers with some down time, without
any lapse in the excellent care our patients always receive.
What is Elder Care?
Elder care is another term for Senior Care.

What is Aquatic Therapy?
Aquatic therapy (or pool therapy) is physical
therapy that is performed in the water. Aquatic therapy use the resistance
of water instead of weights, reducing risk of injury and increasing
positive results. Therapeutic support is an integral part of the senior
care, respite care and rehabilitation that is offered at St. Catherine's.
We offer a full Aquatic Program, which is provided in our large therapeutic
pool.
